A Sevalla alternative for Laravel in Europe.
Sevalla is Kinsta’s platform for container apps, managed databases, object storage and static sites, billed by usage, on Oracle Cloud and Google Cloud with Cloudflare in front. Brewless runs your Laravel app in your own Scaleway and bunny.net accounts instead, two European-owned clouds.

Sevalla and Brewless at a glance
| Topic | Sevalla | Brewless |
|---|---|---|
| Company | Kinsta Inc.; its terms fall under the law of Delaware, United States. | Coding Agency, Meppel, the Netherlands. |
| How your app runs | Containers on Kubernetes, one web process per app with background workers, cron jobs and jobs, and horizontal autoscaling. | Serverless containers: your app starts with traffic and stops when it is quiet. There are no servers to manage. |
| Whose account | Sevalla’s own infrastructure. | Yours: your own Scaleway project and bunny.net account. Brewless is the control plane and is not in the path of your visitors. |
| Infrastructure | Oracle Cloud and Google Cloud, with Cloudflare for load balancing, static sites and object storage. | Scaleway (France) for your app, bunny.net (Slovenia) for the edge in front of it. Both European companies. |
| Regions in Europe | Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Stockholm and Zurich, among 20 locations. | Paris, Amsterdam, Warsaw and Milan. |
| Scales to zero | Yes: hibernation scales an app to zero after a quiet period; waking takes up to about 90 seconds. | Yes, when you set the minimum to zero. |
| Price | Per instance, from $5 a month; databases from $5 a month; builds $0.02 a minute. $20 of free credit to start. | Free to try with one application. Paid plans from €15 a month, with unlimited environments on every plan. Scaleway and bunny.net bill you directly, and Brewless takes no percentage of that. |
| For Laravel | Builds with Nixpacks or a Dockerfile; queue:work and schedule:work as background workers, and migrations as a job before each deployment. | Migrations as their own step in every deploy, queues on Scaleway Queues, the schedule read from your app, Artisan on the live release, and brewless init to start from a vapor.yml. |
What Sevalla does well
- Usage billing per instance; cron jobs and jobs cost only while they run.
- Horizontal autoscaling and hibernation to zero built in.
- Six European locations.
- Apps, databases, object storage and free static sites in one dashboard.
Where Brewless is different
European clouds
Brewless runs on Scaleway (France) and bunny.net (Slovenia). Sevalla runs on Oracle Cloud and Google Cloud, both American.
Your own accounts
With Brewless, the Scaleway project and bunny.net account are yours and bill you directly. On Sevalla, the infrastructure and the bill are Sevalla’s.
The schedule without a worker
Brewless reads the schedule from your app and calls the worker only when a task is due, instead of a worker running schedule:work all the time.
Built for Laravel
Migrations run as their own step and Artisan runs on the live release from the console or the command line.
Which one fits?
Pick Sevalla if
- You want apps, databases and static sites from one provider.
- You run more than Laravel.
- You need a location outside Europe.
Pick Brewless if
- You want your Laravel app with European-owned providers.
- You want the infrastructure in your own name.
- You want a deploy tool made for Laravel.
Moving from Sevalla to Brewless
Your Sevalla processes map onto brewless.yml: the web process becomes your web container, the queue worker your queue, the schedule worker is not needed because the schedule is read from your app, and the migration job becomes a release command. Copy your database to Scaleway, test, then move your domain.
