A Laravel Cloud alternative in your own European accounts.
Laravel Cloud is the Laravel team’s fully managed platform: there is no cloud account to set up, and apps run on AWS that Laravel operates, with regions in Frankfurt, Ireland and London. Brewless takes the other route: your app runs in your own Scaleway and bunny.net accounts, two European-owned clouds, and keeps running there without Brewless.

Laravel Cloud and Brewless at a glance
| Topic | Laravel Cloud | Brewless |
|---|---|---|
| Company | Laravel Holdings Inc., New York, United States. | Coding Agency, Meppel, the Netherlands. |
| How your app runs | A managed platform on AWS EC2, operated by Laravel. Flex compute sleeps when idle and wakes on the next request. | Serverless containers: your app starts with traffic and stops when it is quiet. There are no servers to manage. |
| Whose account | Laravel’s. You need no AWS account; Laravel Cloud bills you for everything. | Yours: your own Scaleway project and bunny.net account. Brewless is the control plane and is not in the path of your visitors. |
| Infrastructure | Amazon Web Services (United States), operated by Laravel, with DDoS protection through Cloudflare. | Scaleway (France) for your app, bunny.net (Slovenia) for the edge in front of it. Both European companies. |
| Regions in Europe | Frankfurt, Ireland and London, next to regions in North America and Asia-Pacific. | Paris, Amsterdam, Warsaw and Milan. |
| Scales to zero | Yes, on Flex compute. | Yes, when you set the minimum to zero. |
| Price | Starter $5, Growth $20 and Business $200 a month, each plus usage: compute per second while awake, databases and bandwidth. Enterprise on request. | Free to try with one application. Paid plans from €15 a month, with unlimited environments on every plan. Scaleway and bunny.net bill you directly, and Brewless takes no percentage of that. |
| For Laravel | Queues and worker clusters, the scheduler, Octane on FrankenPHP, managed Reverb, MySQL and Serverless Postgres, and preview environments. | Migrations as their own step in every deploy, queues on Scaleway Queues, the schedule read from your app, Artisan on the live release, and brewless init to start from a vapor.yml. |
What Laravel Cloud does well
- No cloud account, IAM setup or provider bills of your own: one bill from Laravel.
- First-party Octane, Reverb and queues from the people who make Laravel.
- Scale to zero with a fast wake-up, and spending limits.
- Three European regions, and preview environments.
Where Brewless is different
Your own accounts
With Brewless, the Scaleway project and the bunny.net account are yours, and they bill you directly. With Laravel Cloud, the infrastructure is Laravel’s and you pay Laravel for it.
European owners
Scaleway is a French company and bunny.net a Slovenian one. The European regions of Laravel Cloud run on AWS, an American company.
Keeps running without us
If you stop using Brewless, your app keeps serving from your accounts. Brewless is never in the path of your visitors.
A fee that does not follow traffic
Brewless charges a fixed plan fee. Your traffic shows up only on your provider bills, at their prices.
Which one fits?
Pick Laravel Cloud if
- You want one bill and no cloud account to look after.
- You need managed Reverb, Octane or Inertia SSR today.
- You want your hosting from the Laravel team itself.
Pick Brewless if
- You want the infrastructure, the data and the contracts in your own name.
- You want European-owned providers, not only a European region.
- You want to be able to stop using your deploy tool and keep everything running.
Moving from Laravel Cloud to Brewless
Laravel Cloud keeps its settings in its dashboard. With Brewless the same things go into brewless.yml in your repository: build and release commands, queues, the schedule and scaling bounds. Move your database with a dump and a restore, test the new environment, then point your domain at it.
Questions about Laravel Cloud
- Is Laravel Cloud hosted in Europe?
- It has regions in Frankfurt (eu-central-1), Ireland (eu-west-1) and London (eu-west-2). They run on AWS and are operated by Laravel Holdings Inc., a company based in the United States.
- Does Laravel Cloud run in my own AWS account?
- No. Laravel Cloud runs on infrastructure that Laravel manages, and you need no AWS account. Its Enterprise plan offers a private, isolated setup.
- What does Brewless do differently from Laravel Cloud?
- Brewless deploys into accounts that you own at Scaleway and bunny.net and stays out of the path of your traffic, so your app keeps running if you stop using Brewless. It does not host your app itself.
