A Laravel Vapor alternative that runs in Europe.
Laravel Vapor runs Laravel serverless on AWS Lambda, in your own AWS account, and no longer accepts new signups. Brewless follows the same idea, serverless and in your own accounts, on Scaleway and bunny.net: two European-owned clouds. brewless init reads your vapor.yml and writes the brewless.yml that matches it.

Laravel Vapor and Brewless at a glance
| Topic | Laravel Vapor | Brewless |
|---|---|---|
| Company | Laravel Holdings Inc., New York, United States. | Coding Agency, Meppel, the Netherlands. |
| How your app runs | Serverless on AWS Lambda, with SQS for queues, RDS for databases and CloudFront in front. | Serverless containers: your app starts with traffic and stops when it is quiet. There are no servers to manage. |
| Whose account | Yours: your own AWS account, which Vapor reaches through an IAM role. | Yours: your own Scaleway project and bunny.net account. Brewless is the control plane and is not in the path of your visitors. |
| Infrastructure | Amazon Web Services (United States). | Scaleway (France) for your app, bunny.net (Slovenia) for the edge in front of it. Both European companies. |
| Regions in Europe | The AWS region you choose for a project, European ones included. | Paris, Amsterdam, Warsaw and Milan. |
| Scales to zero | Yes: Lambda runs per request. | Yes, when you set the minimum to zero. |
| Price | Sandbox free (one project); Unlimited $39 a month or $399 a year. AWS bills you directly, without a markup. | Free to try with one application. Paid plans from €15 a month, with unlimited environments on every plan. Scaleway and bunny.net bill you directly, and Brewless takes no percentage of that. |
| For Laravel | Queues on SQS, the scheduler set up for you, databases and caches, rollbacks, and deploy hooks in vapor.yml. | Migrations as their own step in every deploy, queues on Scaleway Queues, the schedule read from your app, Artisan on the live release, and brewless init to start from a vapor.yml. |
What Laravel Vapor does well
- Lambda scales queue work to very high concurrency.
- Everything runs in your own AWS account, next to any other AWS service you use.
- No markup on AWS prices, and one flat fee for unlimited projects.
- Made by the Laravel team, with years of use in production.
Where Brewless is different
European clouds
Brewless runs your app on Scaleway and bunny.net, companies based in France and Slovenia. Vapor runs on AWS.
Open to new teams
The Vapor site says it no longer accepts new signups. Brewless opens access to Laravel teams in small batches.
A container, built for you
Brewless builds your repository into an ordinary container image and runs it on Scaleway Serverless Containers.
Free to try
Brewless is free to try with one application; paid plans start at €15 a month, with unlimited environments. Vapor charges one flat fee for unlimited projects.
Which one fits?
Pick Laravel Vapor if
- You already run on Vapor and want to stay on AWS.
- You rely on other AWS services next to your app.
- You need Lambda-level concurrency for bursts of queue work.
Pick Brewless if
- You want your app on European-owned infrastructure.
- You are starting a new project and cannot sign up for Vapor.
- You want to keep the Vapor way of working: serverless, in your own accounts, described in one file.
Moving from Laravel Vapor to Brewless
brewless init --from-vapor reads vapor.yml, writes brewless.yml and tells you what it could not carry over. Nothing at Vapor or AWS is read or changed: your app keeps running there until you move your domain. Your database moves with a dump and a restore; a MySQL database needs a MySQL database at Scaleway to land in.
Questions about Laravel Vapor
- Is Laravel Vapor still available?
- For existing customers, yes. The Vapor website says it no longer accepts new signups and points to Laravel Cloud. We found no announced end date for existing customers (checked 20 October 2026).
- What is the closest alternative to Laravel Vapor?
- If you want what Vapor does, serverless in your own cloud account, look at Bref on AWS or Brewless on Scaleway in Europe. If you would rather not have a cloud account at all, Laravel Cloud is the Laravel team’s managed platform.
- Can I move from Vapor to Brewless without downtime?
- Yes. Your app keeps running on Vapor while you set up Brewless, copy your data and test. Traffic moves when you point your domain at the new environment.
