A Koyeb alternative for Laravel teams.

Koyeb is a French serverless platform: containers and apps built from Git run as micro-VMs on its own servers, scale to zero and bill per second, with GPUs next to CPUs. In February 2026 it announced it is joining Mistral AI. Brewless is serverless too, but deploys your Laravel app into your own Scaleway and bunny.net accounts.

Koyeb and Brewless at a glance

Topic Koyeb Brewless
Company Koyeb SAS, Boulogne-Billancourt, France. In February 2026 Koyeb announced an agreement to join Mistral AI. Coding Agency, Meppel, the Netherlands.
How your app runs Serverless containers: Docker images or apps built from Git run as micro-VMs on bare-metal servers, as web or worker services. Serverless containers: your app starts with traffic and stops when it is quiet. There are no servers to manage.
Whose account Koyeb’s own infrastructure. Yours: your own Scaleway project and bunny.net account. Brewless is the control plane and is not in the path of your visitors.
Infrastructure Bare-metal servers Koyeb runs, with one region on AWS. Scaleway (France) for your app, bunny.net (Slovenia) for the edge in front of it. Both European companies.
Regions in Europe Frankfurt and Paris, next to Washington, San Francisco, Singapore and Tokyo. Paris, Amsterdam, Warsaw and Milan.
Scales to zero Yes, in public preview: services sleep after a quiet period and wake on the next request. Yes, when you set the minimum to zero.
Price Pro $29 and Scale $299 a month, each plus compute per second: a small instance from $2.68 a month. New sign-ups start on a paid plan. Free to try with one application. Paid plans from €15 a month, with unlimited environments on every plan. Scaleway and bunny.net bill you directly, and Brewless takes no percentage of that.
For Laravel A native PHP build that detects composer.json, and worker services; no built-in scheduler, and its Laravel tutorials are older. Migrations as their own step in every deploy, queues on Scaleway Queues, the schedule read from your app, Artisan on the live release, and brewless init to start from a vapor.yml.

What Koyeb does well

  • Billing per second and scale to zero with a fast wake-up.
  • Each instance is its own micro-VM on bare metal.
  • Two EU regions, Frankfurt and Paris, from a French company.
  • CPUs and GPUs on one platform, with Terraform, Pulumi and an API.

Where Brewless is different

Your own accounts

With Brewless, the Scaleway project and bunny.net account are yours and bill you directly. On Koyeb, the infrastructure and the bill are Koyeb’s.

Built for Laravel

Migrations run as their own step, queue workers are called when a job arrives and the schedule is read from your app.

Managed databases in your account

Your database is a managed service at Scaleway, in your own project.

Keeps running without us

If you stop using Brewless, your app keeps serving from your own accounts.

Which one fits?

Pick Koyeb if

  • You run AI inference or GPU work next to your app.
  • You want serverless containers for many languages.
  • You want one provider to run and bill everything.

Pick Brewless if

  • Your apps are Laravel.
  • You want the infrastructure in your own name.
  • You want a scheduler and queues without building them yourself.

Moving from Koyeb to Brewless

Your Koyeb web service becomes your web container in brewless.yml and the worker service your queue. Any cron you ran inside a service is not needed: the schedule is read from your app. Copy your database to Scaleway, test, then move your domain.
