A RunCloud alternative without servers to manage.
RunCloud is a control panel from Malaysia that installs an agent on your Ubuntu servers and manages PHP apps, backups and deploys on them. Brewless has no servers: your Laravel app runs in serverless containers in your own Scaleway account, behind bunny.net, both European companies.

RunCloud and Brewless at a glance
| Topic | RunCloud | Brewless |
|---|---|---|
| Company | RunCloud Sdn Bhd, Malaysia. | Coding Agency, Meppel, the Netherlands. |
| How your app runs | A server management panel: an agent on your Ubuntu server manages Nginx, PHP and your apps. | Serverless containers: your app starts with traffic and stops when it is quiet. There are no servers to manage. |
| Whose account | Yours: any Ubuntu server with a public IPv4 address, in the cloud or on premises. | Yours: your own Scaleway project and bunny.net account. Brewless is the control plane and is not in the path of your visitors. |
| Infrastructure | Your choice, such as Hetzner, UpCloud, Vultr, DigitalOcean, AWS or Google Cloud. | Scaleway (France) for your app, bunny.net (Slovenia) for the edge in front of it. Both European companies. |
| Regions in Europe | Those of your provider. | Paris, Amsterdam, Warsaw and Milan. |
| Scales to zero | Not applicable: a server stays on. | Yes, when you set the minimum to zero. |
| Price | Essentials $9, Professional $19, Business $49 and Enterprise $399 a month, with a 7-day trial. Your provider bills the servers. | Free to try with one application. Paid plans from €15 a month, with unlimited environments on every plan. Scaleway and bunny.net bill you directly, and Brewless takes no percentage of that. |
| For Laravel | Supervisor jobs for queues, cron jobs, Git deploys with deploy scripts, atomic deploys on Business and up, and a guide for Octane. | Migrations as their own step in every deploy, queues on Scaleway Queues, the schedule read from your app, Artisan on the live release, and brewless init to start from a vapor.yml. |
What RunCloud does well
- Works with any Ubuntu server, in the cloud or on premises.
- Strong backup tooling, with storage included.
- ISO 27001 certified.
- A firewall and WAF built in, and team features for hundreds of servers.
Where Brewless is different
No servers
There is nothing to patch, resize or keep running. Scaleway runs the machines; your containers start with traffic and stop when it is quiet.
European providers
Brewless and the providers it deploys to are European companies: Coding Agency in the Netherlands, Scaleway in France and bunny.net in Slovenia.
Built for Laravel
Migrations run as their own step, the schedule is read from your app and queue workers are called when a job arrives.
Releases you can put back
Every deploy is a release; any release that was live can be put back with one command.
Which one fits?
Pick RunCloud if
- You manage many servers, or WordPress sites next to PHP apps.
- You need servers on premises.
- Your traffic is steady.
Pick Brewless if
- You would rather not patch or size servers.
- You want your tooling and providers in Europe.
- Your apps are Laravel.
Moving from RunCloud to Brewless
Your RunCloud deploy script maps onto brewless.yml: the build steps become build commands and migrate becomes a release command. Supervisor jobs and cron jobs are not needed: Brewless calls the worker when a job is queued and reads the schedule from your app. Copy your database, test, then move your domain.
